Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to a house fire early Friday morning near 35th St. and Quaker Avenue.
According to Lubbock Fire, when they got on scene, they found fire and smoke coming from a home. Firefighters were able to quickly put the fire out. The house has severe fire damage, according to firefighters.
Lubbock Fire said they believe the home is vacant. They also said neighbors reported seeing homeless people in the home.
Officers with the Lubbock Police Department were also called to respond and help divert traffic in the area as firefighters were working to put the fire out.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is now investigating the cause of the fire.
