Lubbock ISD will align school start and end times for elementary schools, for middle schools and for high schools for the 2017-18 school year. Every LISD school will have an instruction day of 7 hours and 40 minutes.

Elementary Schools – 7:45 a.m. – 3:25 p.m.

Middle Schools – 8:20 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

High Schools – 8:15 a.m. – 3:55 p.m.

The minor changes to the schedule keep the district compliant with the number of minutes of instruction required by state law and provides additional minutes to be “banked” in the event of inclement weather or other events impacting the school day. Lubbock ISD received responses from more than 3,000 parents, students and staff members to gain input for the school start and end times.
