Russell Louis Warren, 33, of Lubbock was arrested late Sunday night and accused of assaulting an off-duty police officer, violating a protective order, resisting arrest, and public intoxication.

Police were called to the 2100 block of La Salle Avenue.  Police were told that Warren had been photographed with his son at another location.  But then, he came to his ex-wife’s residence, and she had a protective order against him.

The ex-wife went to a neighbor for help, and he was an off-duty officer with Ralls Police.

The police report said Warren got into a fight with the officer.  The ex-wife called Lubbock Police.

The police report said, “I was unable to speak to [the Ralls officer], but did observe him to have his badge displayed on his belt on the right side of his hip near his handgun.”

The police report also said there was an odor of alcohol on Warren.

Warren was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center in lieu of bonds totaling $106,000.
