A Lubbock man was arrested and charged with assaulting an officer early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred in the 2900 block of 1st Place just after 2:30 a.m.
Lubbock Police told EverythingLubbock.com officers were dispatched to a reported burglary in progress and pursued the suspect to a residence in North Lubbock.
An officer attempted to stop the vehicle that was parked in front of the residence. The suspect exited the vehicle and refused to obey commands from the officer, police said.
The suspect then ran into the residence and was pursed by the officer.
A man inside the resident stopped the officer from continuing the pursuit and struck the officer in the face with his fist, authorities said.
Fabian Ramirez, 55, was arrested and charged with assault on a public servant and interference with public duties.
Diane Ramirez, 47, was arrested and charged with interference with public duties.
Isaiah Hernandez, 30, was arrested and charged with evading arrest.
Lubbock County Detention Center records showed Hernandez was released from jail just after 10:00 a.m. and Diane Ramirez was released just before 2:00 p.m. Sunday.
