Ukedrian Tyrell Anderson, 18, of Lubbock was arrested Wednesday on a charge of human trafficking. Specifically he was accused of forcing an 18-year-old woman to engage in prostitution under the threat of violence if she refused.
Lubbock County Sheriff’s Deputies set up a prostitution sting at a motel in the 900 block of 66th Street. Responding to an ad on backpage.com, an undercover officer invited a woman to spend 45 minutes with him in the hotel.
The undercover officer negotiated prices with her for sex and oral sex. Once he had negotiated the price, he signaled for other officers to arrest her.
She denied having a pimp, but instead led officers to her boyfriend – later identified as Anderson – in another room of the same motel. Under questioning, both admitted he was directing to her to have sex for money.
The woman said Anderson had not assaulted her but believed he would if she ever stopped acting as his prostitute.
An arrest warrant said, “[The woman] advised many times she did not want to … take the Backpage calls but she felt Ukedrian [Anderson] left her no other option.”
Anderson was held in the Lubbock County Detention Center in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
The woman was arrested for prostitution and was still in jail as of Thursday afternoon.
