The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) was called to a one vehicle crash that occurred Saturday in Briscoe County, resulting in the death of one person.

At approximately 2:15 p.m., Roberto Cardenas, 63, of Lubbock, was driving a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle west on SH 256 approximately 12.6  miles east of Silverton. The Harley veered off the roadway and collided into a  guardrail which caused Cardenas to be ejected from his motorcycle. Cardenas struck a metal guard rail post which resulted his death.

Cardenas was pronounced dead on scene by Briscoe County, Justice of the Peace, Judge Simpson.

Cardenas was wearing his helmet.

The road conditions were dry and no other vehicles were involved.
