A Lubbock judge sentenced Joshua Jackson, 31, of Lubbock to 25 years in prison for possession of marijuana between 50 and 2,000 pounds.  He was convicted Wednesday.

Ordinarily the charge would have been a second degree felony but because of two previous felony convictions — both related to marijuana — the case was enhanced to a first degree felony.

Evidence in court indicated that Jackson was pulled over along the Clovis Highway near Lubbock with 164.44 pounds of hydroponic marijuana.  That was in April of 2015 and Jackson was locked up in jail since June of 2015.

Testimony in court indicated that Jackson was on his way from Chico, California to Lubbock.
