Romeo Galdamez, 39, of Lubbock agreed to serve 30 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child.
A police report from September 17, 2015 said officers were called to an address in the 4000 block of 22nd place. A girl said she had been assaulted by Galdamez. Prosecutors said the girl was 11 years old.
Prosecutors also said Galdamez was known by the family, but stopped short of calling him a friend or former friend of the family.
Galdamez must serve at least half of the prison sentence before he can be eligible for parole, and prosecutors said he most likely will have to serve nearly all of the sentence.
