A grand jury indicted Thomas Cavazos, 45, on a charge of Sexual Assault of an Adult, a second degree felony.
The victim told police Cavazos sexually assault her “several times” between July 4, and July 21, 2016.
Court records indicated that Cavazos provided methamphetamine to the victim “every time she was awake, ultimately causing her to lose consciousness.” The victim said she was afraid to tell Cavazos that she did not want to smoke.
According to court documents, the victim would repeatedly wake up to Cavazos in the bedroom with her.
A police report showed he performed sexual acts with the victim multiple times, but she did not initially report him or speak out because was worried about his “violent and controlling history with females.”
Records revealed she “did not want any type of sexual relationship” with Cavazos.
The victim told LPD she was concerned Cavazos would attempt “to groom her into becoming a prostitute for him… and did not know what to do.”
Cavazos was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on August 19. His bond was set at $250,000, jail records said.
Cavazos also faces a charge of Posession of a Controlled Substance, for which the bond was set at $50,000.
