Court records on Wednesday revealed new information about the man accused of kidnapping a woman, stripping her naked and tying her up inside a home.
Juan Salas, 34, was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center Tuesday evening for aggravated kidnapping with intent to terrorize. He was held on a $250,000 bond.
The newest records showed Salas was accused of drugging his victim after she was kidnapped.
EverythingLubbock.com broke the story of this kidnapping on Tuesday afternoon after obtaining a copy of the search warrant for a home in the 500 block of 54th Street.
However, a separate document, an arrest warrant, was made public on Wednesday.
The 48-year-old woman told police she went to a nightclub Friday night when she saw her ex-boyfriend approach aggressively. She lost consciousness at the moment of confrontation. The arrest warrant made a note of a red mark on her eye and a cut on her lip.
She woke up in the home on 54th Street. She had been stripped naked, and tied up with yellow caution tape and wire. For a time, she was untied.
According to the arrest warrant, “[The victim] stated J Salas untied her because his daughter was there.”
“J Salas told [the victim] he would kill her if she said anything while [his] daughter was there,” the arrest warrant said. “After a short time J Salas again tied up [the victim] and forced her to ingest some type of pill.”
“[The victim] stated at that point she got drowsy again and fell back to sleep.”
At one point, the arrest warrant said Salas cut her legs with a small knife.
According to the warrant, “He told her he was doing this because he was going to kill her and make it look like she committed suicide.”
At about 2:00 a.m. Sunday, a neighbor heard a woman screaming for help but couldn’t tell where the sound came from.
On Sunday she was able to escape. She found her pants but no shirt. She ran to a neighbor’s house using a curtain to cover her chest.
The arrest warrant said Salas held her captive and tortured her for two days.
Police talked to her at a local hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
* Note, in the updated story from Tuesday, Salas was listed as age 33. On Wednesday, he turned 34.
