On Saturday, February 20, 2016 at approximately 8:50 p.m., patrol officers responded to a report of theft at Payless Shoes, 4225 South Loop 289. The suspects entered the store and were making a small purchase when they asked the cashier to make change for larger bills. The suspects, using a quick-change scam, confused the cashier and left the store with more money than they were owed.
The suspects were located on Sunday, February 21, by patrol officers driving in the area of South Ave Q Drive and I-27. A search of the vehicle revealed evidence from the theft. Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Lubbock County Detention Facility and booked in.

This investigation is on-going and detectives are looking into the possibility that these are the same suspects involved multiple similar theft scams around the City of Lubbock.
