Lubbock Police were called to the report of a robbery at Great Clips,19th Street and Quaker Avenue at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said a suspect walked into the store and approached the cash register.  An employee said “May I help you?”

According to police he responded by saying, “I just want the register,” or words to that effect.  He then reached for his waist-band and told the employee to not make things difficult.

“I don’t even get through the whole register and he’s like, ‘That’s good.'” the Great Clips employee said. “And then I handed him the money and he walks out.”

The employee believed that the suspect might have been carrying a gun. The man took money and drove away from the store.

“I was worried that I might’ve done the wrong thing but my coworkers have told me that I did the right thing by not freaking out,” the employee said. “Because if he had a gun, if he were to do anything to harm us, that would’ve been worse.”

Police described him as a white male with a blue shirt and blue ball cap.

Neighboring businesses said they didn’t hear or see anything unusual.
