An investigation by the Lubbock Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit led to the recovery of a stolen car, a stolen four-wheeler and the arrest of six individuals this morning.
On March 7th just after 8a.m., a Honda Fit was reported stolen in Southwest Lubbock during a burglary of a habitation. Officers with the Crime Suppression Unit were advised of the theft and began attempting to locate the vehicle. Information gathered during the investigation led detectives to believe the suspect frequented a residence at 1102 East 76th Street.
This morning just before 10 a.m., detectives made contact with the occupants of the home who advised the suspect was inside. This suspect is known to have felony warrants, and the homeowner gave officers permission to enter the home.
Matthew Lott was taken into custody and arrested for outstanding felony warrants and misdemeanor warrants. Investigators anticipate additional charges will be filed.
Officers on scene were able to recover the stolen Honda Fit, a Honda four-wheeler reported stolen out of Randall County, and a trailer that was possibly stolen. The Crime Suppression Unit continues to investigate the circumstances of the burglary in which the car was stolen.
During the investigation, the following addition people were arrested at 1102 East 76th Street:
- Jessica Riggs for possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor arrest warrant
- Michelle Atkinson for a misdemeanor warrant
- Daniel Welch for a misdemeanor warrant
- Alex Espinoza for felony escape, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and resisting arrest
- Christipher Owen for a misdemeanor warrant
Lubbock County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigations Division Deputies also assisted with this incident.
