The Lubbock Police Department wants to remind the residents of the Hub City that they should always call if they see suspicious activity in their neighborhood, even if it ends up being nothing.
“We depend on the community to be our eyes and our ears because the officers cannot be everywhere at once. If you see something say something, that is something we have always tried to push out to the community,” said Tiffany Pelt with Lubbock Police Department.
Pelt says they receive several of these suspicious activity calls daily and they take each one very seriously.
“You know your neighborhood better than anyone else. We usually get about a handful of those each day, it is one of the top calls we get throughout the year,” said Pelt.
There are two options when making a suspicious activity call, Pelt said you can either call the emergency number 911, or the non-emergency number (806) 775-2865.

“By calling in suspicious activity you could possibly be preventing crimes happening in your neighborhood but don’t go and talk to the suspicious person. Please give us a call and we will handle it,” said Pelt.
