The Lubbock Police Department reports a teenager escaped an attempted kidnapping early Sunday morning.

According to Lubbock Police, a 14-year-old Hispanic female met the two suspects, identified as a 21-year-old and a 16-year-old Hispanic male, on social media. They had agreed to go to a nearby park.

The suspects picked up the victim in the 3600 block of Kemper Street in a two-door gray colored passenger car.

The suspects then began traveling away from the park they had agreed to visit. The victim asked the suspects to let her out of the vehicle several times to which they refused. The victim texted her mother and advised her of the situation, Lubbock Police said.

At one point, the suspects were driving near the area of 66th St. and Ave. W. The victim recognized the location, decided to take the opportunity to escape, and began to exit the vehicle. The suspects attempted to pull the victim back into the vehicle but she was able to escape successfully, police said.

The victim called her mother to advise her of the location, and she was picked up a short time later.

Lubbock Police said neither of the suspects have been located.
