The Lubbock Police Department said officers are investigating a deadly industrial accident that happened early Friday morning.
According to police, the incident happened at Gandy’s Dairy in the 200 block of University just before 1:00 a.m.
Police said the driver of the semi was pinned between a semi-truck and a wall. Police later released the name of the victim as Myron Ray Roberts, 56.
A brief written statement from LPD said, “The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by Lubbock EMS.”
Friday morning, Jamaison Schuler with Dean Foods, released the following statement.
“We are deeply saddened one of our long-time employees was involved in a fatal accident on our property in Lubbock.
We’re working with local authorities to provide any information that may be helpful but are not releasing details broadly at this time.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.”
