The Lubbock Police Department was involved in a brief vehicle pursuit on the south side of the city Wednesday afternoon.
According to a news release from the Lubbock Police Department, they received a call that a male was stealing packages off porches in the 3900 block of 101st Street.
The caller gave dispatch a description of the vehicle along with a license plate number. When the plate number was run through the system, the pickup truck was listed as stolen.
Just before 2:00 p.m., an officer located the vehicle near 122nd Street and Quaker Avenue.
The officer turned around to initiate a traffic stop, and the suspect sped off. After a brief pursuit, the officer lost sight of the stolen vehicle near Tech Cafe on 130th Street.
The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety also responded to the scene. The suspect and stolen vehicle have not been located.
The suspect is described as a white male about 5’11” tall.
The stolen vehicle is a red Ford F-250 with a large grill and possibly a diesel. The ;license plate BLD 5041.
