This afternoon, Saturday, January 23, 2016 at approximately 12:21 p.m. patrol officers responded to a report of gun/fire safes in the water in the North Canyon Lakes. Lubbock Fire Rescue was called to the scene to assist in recovering the safes from the water. A total of six safes were located.
Lubbock Police detectives were called to the scene and are investigating whether these are the same safes that were recently stolen in burglaries.
The Lubbock Police Department urges anyone with information on this case to call Crime Line at 741-1000.
