Vendors and organizers have been setting up for the 4th on Broadway all day Friday in preparation for the festivities taking place on Saturday.  All the 25th anniversary events will take place at Mackenzie Park with the exception of La Raza on the Plaza and the Texas Country Street Dance, which will take place at the Lubbock County Courthouse.  The day kicks off with the Yankee Doodle Dash and Sparkler Spring at 7:30am.  Other events throughout the day include Picnic in the Park, a taco eating contest, concerts, firework show, and the parade.  The parade route for 2015 will start at Broadway Street and will hit spots including Mackenzie Park, Interstate 27, Canyon Lake Road, and Cesar E. Chavez Drive. Parking is available for $5 at the South Plains Fairgrounds. If you can’t wait until tomorrow, you can catch the first round of fireworks tonight at Buffalo Springs Lake.
