#1 Texas Tech hosts #2 Dallas Baptist in the Lubbock Regional final.
Currently: Texas Tech leads Dallas Baptist 5-3 in the 8th inning.
Recap:
In the top of the first Tech junior RHP Ryan Moseley sat down Dallas Baptist in a 1-2-3 inning.
The in the bottom half of the first, Tech sophomore center fielder Tanner Gardner grounded out to second base to score Stephen Smith from third. Tech lead 1-0.
Then in the second with runners on the corner, Orlando Garcia popped out to end the inning, stranding two runners.
In the third, DBU got on the board. Duzenack flies out to deep CF but scores Sweet from third. Tech and DBU all tied up at one.
In the home half, Texas Tech kept their trip to the plate alive after DBU walked Tyler Neslony to load the bases. Then DBU LHP Landon Wilson balked to bring home Stephen Smith, giving Texas Tech the 2-1 lead.
On to the fourth, a double off the bat of sophomore infielder Orlando Garcia into right center to score Davis and give Texas Tech a 3-1 lead in the fourth inning.
Then in the sixth, DBU’s Austin Listi blasts a two-run bomb over left field to tie the game 3-3.
In the bottom of the sixth, Orlando Garcia drives a two-run double to the gap in left center to put Texas Tech back on top, 5-3.
If the Red Raiders win, they will advance and be a Super Regional host. If they lose they season is over.
Tech junior RHP Ryan Moseley will get the start for the Red Raiders.
As for DBU, freshman LHP Coby Weaver will get the start on the bump.
