Last week apartmentlist.com said Lubbock tied Amarillo and Waco for 12th lowest two-bedroom apartment rent among Texas cities it monitors.
For the month of May, two-bedroom rent in Lubbock averaged $700 per month, an increase of 2.6 percent from last year. One-bedroom rent averaged $540 according to apartmentlist.com, an increase of 3.5 percent.
“In Texas, same-unit 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom rents both increased slightly by 0.3% between April and May,” apartmentlist.com said. “They are now up 3.1% and 2.7% over the last year at average prices of $850 and $970, respectively.”
Copperas Cove had the lowest average monthly two-bedroom rent at $540, and the lowest one-bedroom rent at $390.
Flower Mound was the most expensive at $1,580 for average monthly two-bedroom rent and $1,150 for one-bedroom rent.
