Dog owners, rejoice: Two new dog parks will open this spring in the Hub City.
Mackenzie Park and Clapp Park will soon be home to dog-friendly areas.
Lubbock Parks and Recreation shared new images on Facebook of the projects Tuesday.
Last month, the City of Lubbock also shared a sneak peek of Mackenzie Park’s dog area to Facebook followers. The park, which is already under construction, is located next to Joyland Amusement Park.
The Mackenzie Park project is expected to be completed by April 2018, according to the post.
Another dog park will be in Clapp Park, next to Safety City off 44th Street and Avenue U. According to the Parks and Recreation Facebook post, the park will be completed by spring time.
Dogs and their owners will enjoy new dog-friendly water fountains, covered benches, sidewalks and shade trees. Each park will be divided into two sections for large and small dogs.
