Lubbock Students Get to Rock Out with Co-Founder of Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Mark Wood, the founder of the “Electrify your Strings” Education program, which is a traveling music education program to give orchestral musicians an introduction to electric instruments. 

Wood is in Lubbock offering a first-rate education on how to electrify your strings with the Texas Tech University Symphony Orchestra and over 1,300 participating students from Lubbock ISD. Students will work with Wood and colleagues Val Vigoda and Haydn Vitera and Woods band. Students will learn how to “shred” on orchestral instruments for symphonic versions of songs by well known artists. 


The students will also get a chance to perform with Wood in his concert on Saturday at the South Plains Fairground at 2 p.m.Tickets for the concert are $10 for general admission, and can be purchased online at www.selectaseatlubbock.com.
