The Lubbock Super Regional is officially sold out, but that hasn’t stopped ticket holders from scalping their tickets. Texas Tech fans have put tickets on sites like Craigslist with expensive prices.

A set of four tickets to this weekend’s Super Regional runs $2,000. Robert Giovannetti, a Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Operations, said this is something every athletic department deals with.

“We are certainly not a fan of it. We want the fans to buy the tickets to be, you know, to use them, because if you can’t use them, there were a lot of fans who were not able to get tickets this weekend,” Giovannetti said

The Texas Tech Athletic Department has a relationship with Vivid Seats and asks that if fans go to an outside outlet, they do it through that company.

“It’s a part of the business. Some people are going to buy them try to turn them to make a profit, so we understand there’s nothing we can really do about that as well,” Giovannetti said.
