Lubbock Teen Was Impregnated, Then Murdered According to Search Warrant

A search warrant revealed new details Monday morning in the murder of Holli Jeffcoat, 18, of Northeast Lubbock County.  Jeffcoat was found dead on Wednesday, February 10 in her home near Idalou.

The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office said she was stabbed to death and someone set a fire in an attempt to cover up the crime.

Jeffcoat was described by the LSO as a student with special needs.  She had been the victim of sexual abuse according to court records filed on behalf of Children’s Protective Service in 2008.  The new court records indicated more sexual abuse.

“Holli Jeffcoat made an outcry of sexual abuse on 01-29-2016,” the search warrant said.

In the warrant, Jeffcoat told someone at Lorenzo High School, “She had been impregnated… ”

The search warrant said Jeffcoat named a specific individual who had not been charged or arrested according to Lubbock County online records on Monday.

Because the individual was not yet charged, EverythingLubbock.com will hold back the name until a criminal charge is made.

The person named in the search warrant was on scene as sheriff’s deputies were investigating Jeffcoat’s murder.  The warrant said he had a lighter in his pocket and had a white powdery substance on his hands “consistent with oxidized paint.”

This same person was taken in for questioning.  Deputies later acquired the warrant to look for blood, DNA, hair, body fluids, body tissue, clothing, rags (or paper towels), and ignitable fluids. The warrant also included computers or cell phones that might contain images as evidence of sexual abuse.

The search warrant mentioned capital murder as a possible charge for Jeffcoat’s death.

A spokesperson for the Department of Family and Protective Services added that  DFPS is still investigating Jeffcoat’s case as well, but most of their findings will be kept confidential. DFPS said that at the moment, their main concern is the safety and welfare of Jeffcoat’s 15-year-old sibling who has been placed in foster care.

DFPS added that they are compiling background information from Jeffcoat’s family’s prior involvement with CPS to help law enforcement to build a criminal case.
