Lubbock Wind Power Museum Holds Wind Energy Experience Grand Opening

The American Wind Power Center is holding a grand opening for their newest attraction, the Wind Energy Experience, on Wednesday, June 22nd. The week will be used to showcase different parts of their new center.

On June 22nd, They will showcase the Wingen turbine, an electric producing wind turbine that was manufactured in Lubbock, Texas in the 1970’s. The 23rd, is dedicated to celebrating the relationship between steam engine trains and their relationship to the water pumping windmills.  Thomas the train will be making an appearance for all of the young at heart. The 24th, is dedicated to Miniature Madness. The 25th is a Casino Day with tickets sold to a Texas Hold-em Tournement.

There is no admission fee this week for the opening of the Wind Energy Experience.
