A grand jury indicted Linda Villarreal, 54, of Lubbock Tuesday for sexual assault of a child. Villarreal was arrested on January 1 at a Lubbock motel where she was found with a 16-year-old boy that officials described as having special needs.
The boy was reported missing on December 31. After a few hours police found him with Villarreal and a man who was watching as Villarreal sexually abused the boy.
A police report accused Villarreal of kidnapping but prosecutors chose not to pursue a kidnapping charge.
Villarreal was held Tuesday on a $10,000 bond. She was listed as homeless by both the police report and her jail booing sheet.
