LUBBOCK, TX (PRESS RELEASE) — The South Plains Tennis Association is pleased to announce Kathy Vick of Lubbock, has been selected by the United States Tennis Association as one of only four players to represent the United States in the 2015 International Tennis Federation Seniors World Team Championships.
 
The championships will take place in La Baule, France on red clay at the Ninon Pornichet Tennis Club from June 8 – 13, 2015. Other players selected are from South Carolina, California and Colorado.
 
Vick is the first player to be selected from Lubbock, Texas. She has had the opportunity to compete in Austria, Australia, Guatemala, South Africa and New Zealand. In addition, she has coached teams from Australia, Sweden, Holland and Germany.
 
Vick said “I am super excited and feel very blessed to have the opportunity to represent the United states in the 2015 ITF Senior World Team.” Vick added “This is my 5th time to be a member of the team and, thanks to tennis, I have been able to travel throughout the U.S. and internationally.”
 
Local tennis professional, Mel McRee, of Lubbock Country Club, said “Kathy Vick is the most humble and kind tennis professional you can find but if you plan on playing her, you better be in shape and stay away from the net. She paints lines with her passing shots!
