The Overton Hotel and Conference Center is lighting up the night skies with arguably the largest “Double T” in town.
The “Double T” will be illuminated out of the windows of the hotel that face campus on Sunday and Monday evening, August 28th and 29th.
The Chamber of Commerce encourages local businesses to show support this time of year. Director of Sales and Marketing, Shannon Baker says, “the overton hotel is a big supporter of Texas Tech University. This is a great way to welcome back students and kick off football season. This is our seventh year to do this and it has become a great tradition. Every year we have a huge response and it is amazing to see a “Double T” so big.”
The “Double T” can be viewed Sunday and Monday evening on the southwest side of the hotel, located at 2322 Mac Davis Lane. The “Double T” is best viewed at night. Sunset is scheduled around 8:15 p.m.
The Overton Hotel is Lubbock’s largest conference hotel and features 303 guest rooms and a fine dining restaurant “pecan grill” featuring modern cuisine with a texas twist. Limited rooms are still available for the non conference game weekends, call 806-776-7000 for reservations.
