Third time’s a charm for Lucy the Pig who finally found her forever home on Wednesday.

Lucy is a pot bellied pig that was found wandering around the 3100 block of Iberis Road last month in Taylor County.

The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office took her in and issued a Notice of Estray, but Lucy’s original owners never came forward to claim her.

She was put up for auction twice on Tuesday for a starting bid of $27.99 – the cost of her food and care.

There was no interest during those two auctions, but the Sheriff’s Office wasn’t ready to give up.

They put her out on the lot one last time on Wednesday, and that’s when Debra Nail came all the way from Aspermont to bring Lucy home.

Nail is a foster mother who has adopted several of her foster children. The family rescues animals at their property in Stonewall County, so Lucy should fit right in.

Lucy was sold to Nail for a final price of $45.
