Dimitrise Lyghts, 22, of Lubbock accepted a plea deal on one count of sex trafficking a minor.
The court docket does not yet say a judge or magistrate has accepted the deal.
Federal paperwork was filed Tuesday in which Lyghts admits that he and Marcelia Sanchez were advertising “commercial sex acts” with an underage girl.
Lyghts admits that between June 3 and June 7, 2016, he was arranging for men to have sexual relations with the underage girl for money.
Court records said Lyghts advertised on a website called Backpage.
Court records said, “Lyghts also personally drove [the underage girl] to various meetings with men for the purpose of [the underage girl] engaging in commercial sex acts with the men, including genital-genital and oral-genital sexual intercourse.”
Previous court records said in Sanchez’ case said, “Sanchez informed Lyghts that Doe was a minor female, and ‘only 14 or 15 years old.’ Lyghts responded, ‘Honestly, I don’t care how old she is as long as she’s making me money.’”
Sanchez pleaded guilty on a conspiracy charge and was sentenced in February to 5 years in federal prison.
Lyghts was originally arrested in 2016 on state charges. He made bond to get out of jail. Then, when charged at the federal level, he disappeared. Lubbock Police found him in January.
But Lyghts refused to come out peacefully from a house in the 2300 block of 92nd Street which led to a three-hour police standoff.
In the federal case, Lyghts faces between 10 years and life in prison. He will be sentenced at a later date.
