The Volunteer Center of Lubbock invites the community to join the Volunteer Center and millions of Americans on Saturday, October 22nd for Make A Difference Day.

For 25 years, Make A Difference Day, has celebrated neighbors helping neighbors and encouraged volunteers from across the nation to come together for a common goal: to improve the lives of others. This is the nation’s largest day of community service, giving everyone an opportunity to take action within their community.

“It’s great to see our community come together and unite as one through service,” said Volunteer Center Service Coordinator, Paris Wright.

Service projects will take place at various times across the city. Opportunities include: making ornaments for the South Plains Food Bank, passing out water at the Monster Dash benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters Lubbock, manning booths and dressing up as zombies at the Zombie Run benefitting Women’s Protective Services, decorating for Catholic Charities of Lubbock’s Fall Festival, assisting with the Carpenter’s Church Garage Sale, mural painting at the Charles Adams Studio Project, playground clean-up at Texas Tech Early Head Start, helping with the Spook House at the Lubbock Boys & Girls Club, cleaning up the gardens at the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum, and beautifying the grounds at Family Promise of Lubbock.
