A 32-year-old man is facing a felony charge after police say he broke into a woman’s home and assaulted her in Odessa Monday morning.
At about 4:30 a.m., Odessa Police officers were called to the 1200 block of Lee Avenue about a disturbance.
When officers arrived at the scene they noticed a man who matched the suspects description and began chasing him on foot, according to a release.
He was reportedly caught in a residential backyard.
Officers then spoke with the victim who said the suspect, later identified as Cole Duren, arrived at her home and was yelling at her through the door, according to the release.
The woman also told officers that Duren kicked the door which hit her in the head, according to the release.
Duren also reportedly knocked the woman to the ground and grabbed a kitchen knife while arguing with her.
Police charged Duren with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony, evading arrest or detention, and public intoxication.
