A man has been arrested and charged with murder after a woman is found dead in Pampa.
Police say Ryan James Mason of Pampa was arrested for allegedly murdering his mother Margaret Mason.
Officials say they were sent to a home on the 600 block of Lowry Street around two Tuesday afternoon.
A neighbor reportedly found the back door to the home open along with signs of foul play, including blood on the floor.
Police say when they arrived they found a body, identified as Margaret Mason in the home.
Pampa police, the Texas Rangers and Borger Police were able to take Ryan Mason into custody in Borger after their investigation led them to where the victim’s car.
Police believe the suspect may have taken the car from the scene of the murder and fled to Borger.
An autopsy will be performed in Lubbock
