A Lubbock man has been jailed in connection to the shooting of two people early Tuesday morning in Central Lubbock.
Jerry Lee Garza, 26, was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center and is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and a parole violation.
According to Lubbock Police, the incident occurred in the 4800 block of Canton Avenue around 1:31 a.m. Lubbock Police said patrol officers responded to a report of a disturbance with two people having been shot in an apartment. Officers arrived and located a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
Geory Smith, 40, was shot in the back and had life-threatening injuries.
Kimbra Andrade, age unknown, was shot in the hand.
According to court documents obtained by EverythingLubbock.com on Thursday, Garza said he was “seeing demons” prior to the shooting.
The documents also revealed Garza knew at least one the victims prior to the incident.
