Man Arrested in Decapitation Death of East Texas Man

An arrest has been made in the death and decapitation of an East Texas man in Brazoria County.

According to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, Zachary Foyt has been arrested and is in custody in Jefferson County, Colorado, for the murder and decapitation of Jubal Dee Alexander, 24. On May 3, 2016, Alexander was found in the front seat of a pickup truck at the Austin Bayou Boat Ramp on Farm-to-Market Road 2004 near Angelton, south of Houston, around 6:00 p.m.

Alexander, who attended Sabine High School, had moved to Port Arthur and worked as a pipefitter at a south East Texas refinery.

The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office told MyEastTex.com a witness came forward on May 24 stating Foyt had killed Alexander. Following the murder, the sheriff’s office said Foyt left Brazoria County for Lakewood, Colorado. The motive for the killing has not been determined. Officials say, as of now, there is no information that leads investigators to believe Alexander knew Foyt. The decapitation of Alexander is thought to be an attempt at concealing or destroying evidence, authorities say.

Foyt’s bond has been set at $5,000,000.
