The vehicle continued to flee northbound in the southbound lanes of US 70 until the vehicle turned westbound onto Brady Avenue in Clovis.

While traveling on Brady Avenue, the vehicle crossed through the intersection of Hull Street. The vehicle then exited the roadway and crashed into a heavy metal fence on the south side of the roadway.

When officers approached the vehicle they observed the female passenger, later identified as Kori Lynn Woods (31) of Norman, OK, was bleeding profusely from injuries sustained during the crash. A short time later Ms. Woods succumbed to her injuries. She was pronounced deceased on scene.

Officers later located the driver, identified as Kyle Mawhorter (29) of Las Vegas, NV, hiding nearby in a field. Mr. Mawhorter was subsequently transported to the University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas for treatment of injuries he sustained in the crash.
