The Lubbock Police Department says a man was shot in the face outside a local motel Saturday evening.
The incident occurred in the 1600 block of 38th Street just before 8:30 p.m. outside the Sunset Square Extended Stay Motel.
Lubbock Police told EverythingLubbock.com the victim claims he heard a knock on the door. When he answered there were two unknown males standing at his door. The victim claims one of the suspects demanded his phone. The victim then told police as he tried to push away from the suspect he was shot in the face, through his right cheek.
The two suspects then fled the scene. Police are still working to locate the suspects.
The victim was transported to University Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
