The Lamb County Sheriff’s Department said a man shot and killed himself after a lover’s quarrel and car chase.
A 28-year-old man called for help in Sudan Monday evening saying his 34-year-old boyfriend was acting crazy and following him in a vehicle chase. The sheriff said there were reports of shots fired during the chase.
The 34-year-old man then drove from Sudan to Littlefield. The sheriff later publicly identified him as Romone Chavira.
Littlefield Police found Chavira first in a traffic stop along Highway 84 in Littlefield Monday evening.
When police tried to pull him over, he drove into a ditch and stopped. Officers found that he shot himself and the gunshot was fatal.
The Texas Rangers were called to help with the investigation. A photojournalist went to the scene and observed a minivan and crime scene tape.
