Man Stabbed for Not Paying Debt, LPD Says

Lubbock Police released information Friday morning about a stabbing the night before.  Police arrested Louis Parraz, 50, of Lamesa.  His specific charge was not listed Friday morning in jail records.

Officers were called to the EZ Mart at 5440 50th Street after 8:00 pm.

“The victim had entered the EZ Mart and advised the clerk he had been stabbed,” police said. “The victim then walked out and headed back toward the Park Apartments.”

“The victim told police he owed the suspect money, and he came to the Park Apartments to speak with the suspect,” police said.

The victim told the suspect he would pay him at a later time.  Police said that’s when Parraz stabbed him with an unknown object.

“The victim says [the suspect] then struck him in the back of the head with a metal object,” police said.

A police report indicated that the victim needed surgery for his injuries, but his specific condition was not listed.
