The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will perform daytime road closures along the Marsha Sharp Freeway (MSF) Phase 5B project limits on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 1 – 2. The closures will give project contractor Webber Construction the space needed to accommodate equipment and safely place concrete beams for the new Spur 327 bridge over MSF.
The Tuesday, Feb. 2, freeway closures are scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and will impact east- and westbound MSF traffic.
To safely complete this work, crews will close eastbound MSF and detour traffic to Milwaukee Avenue via the eastbound Spur 327 frontage roads. Motorist will then take Milwaukee Avenue north to reconnect with the MSF.
The inside, left-lane of westbound MSF, between Loop 289 and Milwaukee Avenue, will be used as a staging area for the beams being used in the operation and will be closed to traffic on Monday, Feb. 1, at 4 p.m. The lane will be closed overnight and Tuesday until the beam setting operation is completed.
The roadways are anticipated to be reopened to traffic Tuesday before the afternoon rush hour and will take place weather permitting.
