The Midland County Sheriff’s Office arrested Midland County Jailer, Brisliy Estrada, Thursday morning.
The 27-year-old female jailer is being charged with retaliation, issued by Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace John Barton, after receiving multiple reports of jailer misconduct including smuggling candy, Tylenol, soft drinks, marijuana, cigarettes as well as cigarette lighters and different medications.
The information also stated that Estrada was allowing special privileges for certain inmates up to and including sexual activities with other inmates after “lights out”, making phone calls to friends and family members of the inmates and using a jail computer for inmates to watch inappropriate activity on the internet.
One inmate was threatened by Estrada with a pistol if she revealed any information to anyone.
Estrada was terminated from employment, arrested and placed in the Midland County Jail.
The case remains active with further interviews to take place.
