The Midland Police Department has arrested and charged Benjamin Moore with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, after reportedly finding his wife, hanging by a power cord in a closet on Saturday morning.
Police originally responded at about 12:11 a.m. Saturday to the 700 block of West Michigan Avenue after Moore reportedly called 911 and said 29-year-old Natasha Morris had attempted suicide, according to a release from the City of Midland.
Moore reportedly called 911 after poking his wife’s body with a pull-up bar, and did not attempt to save her life.
Morris was still in the hospital as of Tuesday, according to the release.
Investigators also determined that injuries on Morris’ neck were consistent with strangulation and were not the result of a self-inflicted hanging, according to the release.
Moore is being held at the Midland County Jail and his bond is set at $150,000.
