The Texas Department of Public Safety reported Sunday that a two vehicle accident in Glasscock County last week killed a Midland man and injured a Lamesa man.
The accident occurred on State Highway 158, approximately 4.5 miles west of Garden City, at 7:03 p.m. on Monday, August 29.
According to the DPS, a eastbound semi-truck, pulling a trailer, crossed the center strip and struck a pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup died at the accident scene. The victim was identified as Hector L. Montez, 37, of Midland.
The driver of the semi-truck suffered incapacitating injuries and was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital. The driver was identified as Felix F. Delacruz, 43, of Lamesa.
The DPS report states it was raining and there was standing water on the roadway at the time of accident. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
