After three incidents involving Washington State football players, head coach Mike Leach fired back Tuesday evening, according to ESPN.  Leach hinted that the Pullman Police Department might be unfairly targeting football players.

Leach said other people were also involved, but only the football players were singled out.

In the most recent incident, Washington State linebacker Logan Tago was arrested on Monday, according to the Seattle Times.  The allegations included robbery and second degree felony assault dating back to June 4, the Seattle Times reported.

“If the other guilty parties are not accused or charged, there needs to be an extensive investigation as to why,” Leach said.

ESPN also quoted Leach as saying, “How in the world can only football parties be guilty in events depicted like this?”

Leach called it a double standard.  He said in one case there was a brawl with 100 people involved and only the football player was arrested.

Leach was head football coach of Texas Tech from 2000 through 2009.  He’s been the coach of the Washington State Cougars starting with the 2012 season.
