A teenage girl from California, who has been missing since June 11, was located by authorities in Amarillo Tuesday.

Amber Woolwine, 16, was reported missing be her family. Deputies said Woolwine was with Max Kozak, 47, when she was found near Amarillo.

A Potter County Sheriff’s Office deputy pulled a vehicle over Tuesday morning and identified the occupants as Woolwine and Kozak.

Kozak was booked into the Potter County Detention Center on an outstanding warrant.

Woolwine has been turned over to Child Protective Services.

Detectives from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office are on their way from California to Texas to interview both people.
