Wichita Falls Police say two Belmont, Ohio 14-year-old’s are in custody after leading authorities on a lengthy chase Sunday night.

According to authorities, Matthew Bateman and Kylee Taylor were reported missing on April 11.

The chase started around 10 p.m. Sunday, when officers say they ran the license plate on a Ford Expedition, and was reported stolen.

Authorities say the two lead them on a chase from Bowie and into Wichita Falls.

According to DPS Trooper Dan Buesing, the chase continued on Highway 287 where Texas Highway Patrol took lead just south of Henrietta.

Buesing says Taylor and Bateman failed to stop for Texas Highway Patrol and continued evading into the Wichita Falls city limits exiting onto Business 287.

Wichita Falls PD successfully spiked the SUV, causing it to stop at the I-44 intersection where both teens started to run.

Taylor was detained at the scene, but Bateman ran away.

At around 9:00 a.m. Monday, Bateman was detained.
