The Springfield, Missouri Police Department investigated the report of a missing 17-year-old girl named  Bobbie L. Carter who, police say, voluntarily left her home and is believed to be with a family member who is a registered sex offender in Wichita County, Texas.

Carter went missing on February 13, and through an investigation, it was discovered that her grandmother picked her up and took her to Texas without telling her parents.

Police believe Carter is with her great uncle,  Irwin G. Rogers, 63, who is a registered sex offender for the sexual assault of a child who resides in Wichita Falls. The Wichita Falls Sheriff’s Department has also been unable to locate the great uncle or Carter.

Carter was described as approximately 5 feet 5 inches, 155 pounds, with sandy blonde hair and hazel eyes.

Rogers was described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches, 123 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He may be driving a red 1994 Nissan pickup with Texas plates T4A3DV.

Anyone with information was asked to immediately call 911 to contact the nearest law enforcement agency, or call the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810.
