Odessa Police in Thursday arrested Michelle Nichole Levario, 34, for injury to a child and six counts of endangering a child.

Police arrested Levario after her son, Yram Levario, 9, died at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.   Police said Yram was diagnosed with Hirschsprung’s Disease.  He was taken to a hospital in Odessa on January 25.  Two days later police were told that he died.

Police said, “A search warrant was executed at the decedent’s residence in the 1800 block of North Muskingum and investigation revealed that Michelle Levario failed to provide the child with necessary medical care.”

Police said the residence had not been cleaned in a while, a gas pipe was sticking up through a hallway floor, bathrooms were dirty, mice droppings were found, black mold was found, and electric outlets were exposed.

Police also said raw sewage was on the side of the house from a toilet.

Yourbasin.com reported, “According to the [arrest warrant] affidavit, the boy had not had a bowel movement in four weeks.  His abdomen was so swollen that his abdomen’s circumference was equal to the victim’s height.”

“Levario has two biological sons and was fostering four additional children,” police said.

She was booked into the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.  Information on her bond was not immediately available.
