Multiple Fatalities Reported in Crash East of Ralls Tuesday Morning

Emergency crews were called to the scene of a deadly accident on the east edge of Ralls Tuesday morning at about 9:30 am.  

Three people died.  One was a child and two were adults, according to The Texas Department of Public Safety.


Three other patients were taken to University Medical Center – all three in critical condition.  UMC said the patients were a man and two children. 

At about 11:00 am DPS released the following information: 

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is currently working a fatality crash just east of Ralls on US 82 in Crosby County.  A passenger vehicle crashed into the rear of a truck tractor semi-trailer.  Three confirmed deceased and three transported to hospitals in Lubbock. 

DPS Senior Corporal John Gonzalez said, “The semi tractor-trailer was attempting to turn right… then the Buick passenger car rear-ended and collided into the rear of the semi.”

Late Tuesday afternoon, DPS released the following names:

Deceased at scene, passenger: Margarita Perez, 60, of Plainview
Deceased at scene, passenger: Britni Lynn Woodring, 25, of Lubbock
Deceased at scene, passenger: King David Perez, 3, of Lubbock

Driver of passenger car:  Lino Sonny Perez, 31, of Lubbock
Passenger (unknown age of child): Analize Perez of Lubbock
Passenger (unknown age of child): Scarlet Perez of Lubbock

As of Tuesday evening UMC said that Lino Perez was in satisfactory condition, one child was in serious condition, and another child in critical condition.

The driver of the semi-tractor trailer was identified as Jay Frank Parks, 69, of Hereford. Parks was not injured according to DPS.
